7- Zip can compress your folders and files so they use less space on your hard drive. The program can create archives in formats 7z , TAR, Gzip , Bzip2 and ZIP . It can open many formats such as 7z , ZIP , CAB , RAR , ARJ , , TAR , RPM and DEB .
To distribute your files, you can create self-extracting archives from your 7z archives . The handling of the archives is also facilitated by the integration of common commands to the context menu of Windows Explorer . Drag and drop is now supported . So you just drag files from Windows Explorer into the window of 7- Zip to add to an archive. The reverse operation can easily extract the documents in an archive.
